Core Values

A Therapy For You:

My core values as a therapist have been shaped by my personal history and are an intentional extension of the my own lived experiences. Moreover, I am the son of two migrant parents who, both on their own separate course, journeyed from West Africa to the United Kingdom: a modern voyage that echoes the tales of imperial and colonial relationships of the past. Being raised in a context assorted with British identity and West African heritage, immersed me in a complex conversation with the themes of identity, culture and belonging from the outset.

As a consequence I have been simultaneously privileged in ways and disenfranchised in other ways. I have experienced the warmth of inclusion and also the pains of exclusion and my desire to belong has simultaneously been countered by my desire to be an individual. These tensions are at the heart of my practice. I intimately know how important it is to have a place to simply be and act in favour of my own flourishing and I care to extend the same hospitality to you.

I aim to curate a relational space for you to be seen, heard and valued in accordance to the Ethical framework for the counselling professions as set by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP):
